As part of Mother’s Day month, join us at Temu House for a special conversation with mothers and daughters who eventually found themselves working together; covering themes on how their journeys unfolded, the dynamics of working with one another, the challenges, the middle grounds reached, and what each generation has learned from the other.
Featuring two inspiring mother–daughter pairings:

Citra members were delighted to visit RAGI: Visual Rhythms of Malay Tenun, an exhibition by fellow member Khairul Anwar Rahmat — a respected heritage arts researcher, writer, and collector behind Galleri Buku Karat.
The exhibition explored the beauty of ragi, the patterns and grid structures that form the foundation of many traditional Malay woven textiles, often referred to as kain beragi. Through pieces from his personal collection and years of research, Khairul shared fascinating insights into the history, symbolism, and craftsmanship behind these textiles.
We left inspired and with a deeper appreciation of the richness of our textile heritage. Thank you, Khairul, for generously sharing your knowledge and passion with us.

In April, Citra members were invited to Hari Raya Open Houses hosted by fellow members Terengganu Songket and Samyama. One of the highlights was a lively textile auction where beautiful songket pieces started at just RM50! While the final bids climbed much higher, it was wonderful to see so many young people enthusiastically bidding for heirloom textiles and appreciating the value of our traditional crafts. A fun afternoon and a lovely reminder that our textile heritage continues to find new admirers.

Event : CIMB Minggu Seri-Ibu Kraf brings together artisans, designers, and craft lovers to celebrate Malaysian creativity, heritage, and craftsmanship.
Several Citra members took part in this year's event, including John Ang, Samyama, Terengganu Songket, Wan Manang Songket, and Qudyn Aziz. Members of the Citra dropped by to show support, catch up with fellow members, and enjoy the many activities throughout the week. We were also happy to lend a hand during some of the fashion shows and cheer on our members as they shared their work with the public.
It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and to celebrate the talent, passion, and dedication that keep our textile traditions alive.
