Citra was founded by two textiles gurus who saw the need to build a community of textile lovers in Malaysia to be the ambassadors and flag bearers for traditional textiles for the country.

Fatimah Ismail is a teacher at her core. She believes in the imparting and sharing her knowledge and has nurtured many textile minds in the process including her co-founder, Arwah Prof Sulaiman. Her work continues with CITRA on his behalf.

Professor Sulaiman Abdul Ghani was known to many as a 'Textile Guru’ & Malaysian Craft heritage expert. He was a true educator and lover traditional textiles and crafts.
His vision was to always do to work to uplift and bring awareness towards Malaysian textiles and crafts as whole.
